An Australian court has said that Samsung Electronics Co. made a proposal to Apple Inc. to settle their patent dispute in the country.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Samsung said in a federal court in Sydney on Friday that Apple has offered a deal, and if accepted by the company, would see the tab 10.1 Galaxy shops hit stores in Australia.

Samsung has suspended sales of its new tablet version of its new Galaxy in Australia in August, pending a patent Apple has led the trial.

Samsung Catterns attorney David did not elaborate on the proposal, and Apple lawyer Steven Burley told the court in Sydney that the company would need time to consider.

Bloomberg initially said that Samsung would give Apple three samples of a new Australian edition of Galaxy seven days before he plans to start distributing it.

Apple and Samsung have been at the center of a legal dispute in the U.S. since April. Apple says that the Galaxy range of Samsung mobile phones and tablets, copy "slavishly" iPhone and iPad devices.

Apple wins in the number of court decisions during the Samsung. Galaxy Tab 1.10 currently excluded from store shelves in Germany and a ban on sales of Samsung smartphones are expected to come into force in Holland in October.
